FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials of the Department of Transportation assume the proposal would have no fiscal impact to the department, since they can require reimbursement for any new signs placed.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

No direct fiscal impact to small business would be expected as a result of this proposal.

DESCRIPTION

This legislation would require the state highways and transportation commission to erect within highway rights-of-way signs for certain historical sites or museums if located within ten miles of a state or federal highway. It would also establish certain services to be displayed in the commission's logo signing program.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
