SB 1295 - This act requires the Department of Health and Senior Services to collaborate with the University of Missouri, School of Medicine to analyze emergency medical services (EMS) data collected from ambulance services and emergency medical response agencies under state law. The Department and the University shall maintain the confidentiality of personal health information, as described in the act. The Department's collaboration with the University shall be for the purpose of quality improvement in the provision of emergency medical services, research, and reporting to EMS entities and state agencies. Local EMS agencies reporting data to the Department shall be provided with access, at no cost, to the data the agencies have submitted.
Any employee of the Department, the University, a public health authority, or other person with access to the information collected under this act who knowingly releases the information in violation of this act shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
