Senator Chappelle-Nadal
Announces NetRoots 2016 Convention
to be Held in St. Louis

JEFFERSON CITY — Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, is excited to announce NetRoots Nation, the leading social activist and progressive blogging organization, will hold its annual convention in St. Louis in the Summer of 2016. NetRoots chose St. Louis because of the activism caused by the events in Ferguson last year.

"I am excited that NetRoots chose St. Louis and that they continue to be concerned about social activism in Ferguson," the Senator said.

On August 9, 2014, a tragedy occurred that opened eyes across America. In the days that followed, Aug. 10 and 11, the people of St. Louis came together and stood together to mourn and freely exercise their rights; then the system fought back. NetRoots Nation is coming to St. Louis to help activists develop tools and become educated.

The convention will provide training in various policy areas and help participants engage their audience. The agenda will be updated at a later date so check www.netrootsnation.org regularly. Trends in state laws and how non-profits play a role in community activism will be discussed. The convention is geared towards those who are political, civic and non-profit minded.
