Senator Pearce to Host Conservation Roundtable

JEFFERSON CITY— Senator David Pearce, R-Warrensburg, Rep. Mike Lair, R-Chillicothe,  and the Missouri Department of Conservation will host a Conservation Roundtable from 9-11 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Mildred Litton Community Center in Chillicothe.

“I encourage anyone interested in the Missouri outdoors to attend this free and informative event,” Sen. Pearce said. “There have been some changes in deer hunting regulations and legislation in regards to conservation activities and this will be a great forum to get all of the information you need to be an informed, Missouri outdoors enthusiast.”

Proposed deer hunting regulations, private land habitat programs, and new technology that allow for mobile check-in of harvest, are all topics that the department is prepared to talk about. Aaron Jeffries, Assistant to the Director, will attend the event on behalf of the department. Following a brief opening statement, Jeffries will then discuss current issues and answer any questions. The Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce will provide refreshments.

“This is the perfect opportunity for the citizens of the 21st District to discuss conservation programs and initiatives with the department,” Sen. Pearce said. “The Department of Conservation has a lot of new and exciting things going on and the public’s input is vital to the success of the programs and future of the department. As a Missourian and resident of the 21st District, this is the perfect chance to ask questions and voice your opinions. ”
