Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal to
Hold News Conference on Funding for Health Study

JEFFERSON CITY— State Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, will update the community on the ongoing environmental crisis along Coldwater Creek and in the Bridgeton Landfill at a news conference scheduled for today (9-4) at 4 p.m. at Memorial Plaza in Clayton.

At a recent public meeting, Dr. Kahn, Director of the St. Louis County Department of Health (DOH), announced he did not have the resources to give adequate attention to Coldwater Creek. He noted there are only three clinical health experts for the entire county, and their caseload consists of more than the environmental disaster along Coldwater Creek. Sen. Chappelle-Nadal has identified funds that are diverted from DOH and is calling for their use to expedite the health study.

Sen. Chappelle-Nadal is serving her second term in the Missouri Senate. She represents the 14th District, which includes the Bridgeton Landfill.
