Senator Munzlinger Sponsors Appointee to Truman State

JEFFERSON CITY — Yesterday (3-26), State Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, sponsored the appointment of Kelly Kochanski as the student representative to the Truman State University Board of Governors.

“This is a thrilling opportunity for Kelly, and I know she is up for the challenge,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “It takes a great deal of time and dedication for someone to see the inner workings of a major university, and that is exactly what serving on Truman State’s Board of Governors means. I know Kelly will not only learn a lot, but also offer a lot, to what is already a fine institution.”

The Board of Governors serves as the governing board of Truman State University and is assigned with the role of setting policy and providing guidance for the university. The board is composed of 10 members. Seven of the 10 are voting members, while three are nonvoting. Of the three nonvoting members, two are out-of-state members and one is a student at Truman State University. The voting members, and nonvoting members who are not students, are appointed for terms of six years. As a nonvoting student member of the board. Kochanski will serve a two-year term.

Kochanski’s appointment is subject to full Missouri Senate approval.
