Senator Munzlinger Sponsors Appointee to State Board

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, is the Senate sponsor of Ashley McCarty of Novinger, who was appointed to serve on the Missouri Clean Water Commission. The commission is a seven-member citizen's board appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Missouri Senate.

“This is an important board for Missouri, particularly for the smaller communities that populate our state,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “Ashley is familiar with the work of the Missouri Clean Water Commission, and I believe her expertise in agriculture will prove itself to be a valuable asset to the commission.”

McCarty’s term on the commission began Dec. 6, 2013, and will expire on April 12, 2016. The Clean Water Commission conserves the water of the state and protects, maintains and improves the quality of public water supplies, in addition to domestic, agricultural, industrial, recreation and other beneficial uses of public water supplies. The commission also addresses the dissemination of wildlife, fish and aquatic life.

The Clean Water Commission adopts regulations and policies regarding the planning, monitoring, permitting, enforcement and granting assistance for activities associated with the objectives of the Clean Water Law; hears and resolves appeals of permits and staff decisions; and directs the use of state construction grant and loan funds.
