Legislative Column for the Week of Feb. 10, 2014
A Week of Visitors and Guests

Every year, many people come to visit the Capitol to see how the legislative process works, voice an opinion or concern to their legislator, or simply take in the beauty of our majestic Capitol building. This year has been no exception.

Just this week, some young people from the Future Farmers of America (FFA) came to visit. We spoke about new technology in agri-business as well as the increasing price of propane. We all should recognize that effective and efficient farming is critical for the future of our state, as well as our nation.  I feel that the FFA is a great organization dedicated to advancing the agricultural community through the students who will help bring modern farming further into the technological age.

Above, two groups of FFA/Tech School students visit Sen. Brown in his office.

We also had visits from the Rolla area county commissioners, students from the local Career and Technical Colleges, the Missouri Society of Radiology Technologists, as well as a group of dental hygienist students, and several other visitors and constituents.

I enjoy taking the time to listen to people from the district and address their concerns on legislative issues. It is a pleasure and an honor to represent the citizens of the 16th District.

Always feel free to contact me throughout the year with any comments, questions, or issues by calling my office at (573) 751-5713 or by visiting my website at www.senate.mo.gov/brown.

Thank you for reading this and for your participation in state government.
