Senator Munzlinger Applauds Signing of SB 89 Into Law

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, announced today (7-9) that the governor has signed Senate Bill 89 into law. The measure will allow certain nursing home districts to establish senior housing and modify provisions relating to health information organizations. The measure will become law on Aug. 28, 2013.

“The need for this legislation was brought to my attention by constituents in Knox County, and I want to thank them for alerting me to their need,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “Under Senate Bill 89, nursing home districts can establish and maintain senior housing, in addition to nursing home facilities, in any third- or fourth-class county. Now, seniors in the 18th Senatorial District will have more community living options, and I am thankful this bill has been signed by the governor.”

Senate Bill 89 is one of several measures, sponsored by Sen. Munzlinger, that have been signed into law this year. To see a complete list of Sen. Munzlinger’s legislation for 2013, visit www.senate.mo.gov/munzlinger.
