Happy Memorial Day from Sen. Munzlinger

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, hopes Missourians take time this weekend to remember those who have served our country and have paid the ultimate price.

“Memorial Day is a day of remembrance and reverence for those who have died defending our nation and the values we hold sacred — liberty, courage and duty to one’s country,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “It is important that we reflect on the sacrifices of every member of our armed services and remember that freedom is not free.”

Also, Sen. Munzlinger wants to remind constituents of the 18th Senatorial District that clean up continues in Moore, Okla., after a devastating tornado ripped through the town this week.

“The best way you can help is through either a monetary, food or clothing donation,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “We learned in Joplin that while it’s great to actually drive there and offer to help, there are plenty of people on the scene in Oklahoma right now. The safest way to donate is through your local Red Cross, Salvation Army or local church. These are trusted organizations that are helping people in Oklahoma right now.”

You can send a $10 donation to the Red Cross by texting REDCROSS to 90999.
