Senator Munzlinger Sponsors Gubernatorial Appointees from the 18th Senatorial District

JEFFERSON CITY — On Jan. 30, 2013, state Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, sponsored the appointment of Michael LaBeth of Kirksville to the Truman State University Board of Governors and the reappointment of Michael Hall of Hannibal to the 911 Service Oversight Advisory Committee.

“Sponsoring gubernatorial appointees gives senators a chance to get to know and support some very fine individuals within their legislative districts,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “Both of these men are excellent choices to serve on their respective boards, and I thank them for their willingness to make the commitment to public service.”

LaBeth is a real estate broker for Heritage House Realty, Inc. His previous work experience includes Mark Twain Mental Health Services and the Bruce Normile Juvenile Justice Center, both in Kirksville. An active member of the community, LaBeth currently serves as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner and as an Alternate Route 63 Safety Commissioner.

Hall is one of 16 members of the 911 Service Oversight Advisory Committee, whose new term will expire in 2015. The committee’s mission is to assist the governor and Missouri General Assembly in collecting and disseminating information related to the use of a universal emergency telephone number. The panel also reviews existing and proposed legislation, provides recommendations for model systems considered in preparing a model 911 service plan and provides requested mediation services to political subdivisions involved in 911 jurisdictional disputes.
