Senate Jobs Committee Approves Sen. Bob Dixon's Economic Development Bill

JEFFERSON CITY — Yesterday (4-10), the Senate Jobs, Economic Development and Local Government Committee voted to approve job creation and economic development legislation sponsored by Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield, — Senate Bill 323 — which creates the Missouri Works Program.

“Missouri Works will cut red tape and make our business development programs easier to use,” said Sen. Dixon. “Putting our state on a path to economic prosperity and promoting the creation of high-quality jobs are top priorities for me. With legislative efforts like Missouri Works, we can position the entire state of Missouri as an excellent place to start, expand or relocate a business.”

The bill would make government leaner and more efficient, consolidating four existing business development programs into a single, streamlined program. Missouri Works would provide flexibility, simplicity of use, and broad applicability, while also ensuring accountability and budget certainty.
