FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
Small business which are farms using genetically enhanced or modified seed would be affected by this proposal..
DESCRIPTION
This act requires the agreements signed by farmers at the time of purchase of genetically enhanced seed shall have a provision that allows the farmer or individual to plant seed derived from the originally purchased seed on his or her own land or on land rented by the original purchaser of the seed. Seed companies can still require the seed not be sold, given away or otherwise distributed.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
