ASSUMPTION
Officials of the Department of Economic Development assume no fiscal impact to their department.
The Platte County Collector stated that the county currently does not collect a $1.00 fee, therefore, there would be no fiscal impact to Platte County due to the reduction of the amount of fee to be collected.
Oversight assumes this proposal does not mandate Platte County to collect a fee on car rentals. Based on statements made by the Platte County Collector, this proposal would not fiscally impact Platte County. Should Platte County decide to impose the $ .50 fee per car rental, then the County would have income generated by the fee, and would have the costs associated with the promotion of economic development. The annual fiscal impact would be either $0 or there would be a positive unknow fund balance. For purposes of this fiscal note Oversight assumes no fiscal impact to local government.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
Small business that rent automobiles would pay $ .50 per car rental, if Platte County were to collect the fee. Current law has the fee of $1.00 allowed.
