FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Agriculture assume this proposal would eliminate the assessment of interest and penalty charges for nonpayment of scale inspection fees and replace those charges with an administrative hearing process, as well as update terminology used in model weights and measures law. The Department of Agriculture estimates the lost revenues at $1000 for FY2003 and $4000 for FY2004.

Oversight assumes this proposal would have minimal impact on the Department of Agriculture.
