This legislation could have an economic impact on cotton farmers.
DESCRIPTION
Current law allows eligible voters to conduct a referendum on boll weevil suppression or eradication. Upon approval of the referendum, voters are allowed to vote on whether to continue their assessments pursuant to boll weevil suppression or eradication at least once every five years. This bill extends the time period for a vote from at least once every five years to
at least once every ten years.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
