In response to the introduced version of this proposed legislation, officials from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education indicated this proposal would have no fiscal impact on their agency.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
This proposed legislation requires every school in this state that is supported in whole or in part by public monies to ensure that the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America is recited in at least one scheduled class of every pupil enrolled in that school no less than once per week. However, no student shall be required to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
