ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Governor's Office assume this proposal would have no direct cost to their office.
Officials from the Office of the Attorney General assume this proposal would have no fiscal impact on their agency.
Officials from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) assume this proposal adds a seventh member to the Clean Water Commission. Current law allows Commission members to be reimbursed for travel and expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. Officials from DNR assume the fiscal impact of adding a seventh member would be minimal.

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
This proposal revises membership of the Clean Water Commission. It adds a seventh member to the commission and stipulates that one member shall be knowledgeable concerning the needs of publicly owned wastewater treatment works and four members shall represent the public. In addition, all members appointed on or after August 28, 2002 shall have demonstrated an interest and knowledge about water quality. All members appointed on or after August 28, 2002 shall also be qualified by interest, education, training or experience to provide, assess, and evaluate

scientific and technical information pertaining to water quality, financial requirements, and the effects of the promulgation of standards, rules, and regulations.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
