FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Corrections, Department of Social Services, and the Office of the Attorney General assume the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on their agencies.

Officials from the Office of State Courts Administrator assume the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on the courts.

Officials from the Office of Administration - Division of Design and Construction (COA) assume the proposal would not fiscally impact their agency. In response to a similar proposal in a previous legislative session, COA officials indicated that in times of rapid prison population growth, it could reduce the state and political subdivisions' options to contract for space and result in the overbuilding of jail capacity.
