ASSUMPTION



Officials from the Department of Transportation, Office of the Secretary of State and the Department of Public Safety - Highway Safety assume this proposal would not fiscally impact their agency.



Officials from the Department of Public Safety - Missouri Highway Patrol state that since this a resolution and not specific legislation, they can only assume that there would be significant potential impact, based on the references to criminal background checks and the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System.



Oversight assumes there would be no direct fiscal impact to the MHP as a result of this resolution.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business



No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.



DESCRIPTION



This proposal would urge the United States Department of Justice to provide the trucking industry access to the information contained in the National Crime Information Center under the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The proposal would also urge the United States Congress to enact legislation to provide the trucking industry access to the information contained in the National Online Information Center.



This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
