DESCRIPTION
This proposal would allow Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests to be given at a student's developmentally appropriate level different from his or her actual grade level if the student is receiving special education services. The school district would have to request developmentally appropriate testing before MAP tests were given and the request would be subject to approval of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The Department could refuse to allow testing at the level requested and require testing at the student's actual grade level.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space. The proposal would not affect Total DESCRIPTION (continued)
