FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
Small businesses which operate or use self-storage facilities could be affected by this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
This proposal would allow operators of self-service storage facilities to impose late fees for months occupants do not pay rent when rent is due. The proposal would specify that late fees be stated in rental agreements and define "reasonable" with regard to late fees.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space. This proposal would not affect Total State Revenue.
