FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Higher Education, in response to a similar proposal, said they assume the maximum amount of money that can be appropriated for community college maintenance and repair is specified in statute: ten percent of state operating appropriations. Community colleges must match all state maintenance and repair dollars with local funds. This bill only expands the type of expenses that are eligible for reimbursement. The bill does not change the maximum possible appropriations or mandate a change in the current appropriation level; therefore, there is no fiscal impact.

Officials from Linn State Technical College said this proposal would have no fiscal impact on their organization.
