Officials of the Missouri House of Representatives and the Missouri Senate stated that this proposal would not affect their agencies, fiscally.



Advertisement costs for the proposal would be $4,380 per newspaper column inch for three printings of the text of the proposal, the introduction, title, fiscal note summary, and affidavit. The proposal would be on the ballot for the April 2001 municipal general election.

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.



DESCRIPTION



This proposal would change term limits for state legislators by limiting consecutive years of service in either chamber of the General Assembly to twelve years. It would also limit service as Speaker of the House of Representatives or President Pro Tempore of the Senate or any similar position of leadership to four years for any person.



This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space. The proposal would not affect Total State Revenue.
