DESCRIPTION

This proposal would allow a surviving spouse to obtain an autopsy report. Currently, section 191.227, RSMo, outlines procedures for the release of medical records. A new subsection would allow a surviving spouse to obtain the deceased spouse's autopsy report when the surviving spouse has appropriately consented to the autopsy under section 194.115, RSMo.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
