ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Department of Economic Development (DED) - Division of Professional Registration (DPR) assume the proposed legislation would result in increased costs related to the committee meetings of the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. The DPR assumes all meetings will be held in Jefferson City with all members in attendance. The DPR assumes meetings would be held four times per year for two days; FY2001 would have four meetings. NOTE: No fees have been collected or deposited to the credit of the Acupuncturist Fund, which is abolished by this proposal.
The DPR assumes annual meeting costs of $7,096 for FY2001, $7,309 for FY2002, and $7,528 for FY2003 would be incurred for the board to meet quarterly, for two days each.
In addition, the DPR assumes an average total per diem of $560 per attending member, resulting in an annual cost of $2,800.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
This act changes the compensation of the Advisory Committee of Acupuncturists. Compensation for the members would be established, not to exceed $70 per day. In addition, the members would be reimbursed for necessary and actual expenses. Currently, compensation is not provided. A chairman and secretary are authorized. Funds received would be deposited into the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners Fund, rather than the Acupuncturist Fund, as required by current statute. This proposal would abolish the Acupuncturist Fund.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
