FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from Moberly Area Community College assume the proposal would result in no fiscal impact to the college.

Officials from the Coordinating Board For Higher Education (CBHE) assume the maximum amount of money that could be appropriated for community college maintenance and repair is currently specified in statute: ten percent of state operating appropriations. Community colleges must match all state maintenance and repair dollars with local funds. This bill only expands the type of expenses that community colleges may claim as local match for state maintenance and repair funds. This bill does not change the maximum possible appropriation or mandate a change in the current appropriation level. Thus there is no fiscal impact.

FISCAL IMPACT - State Government FY 2001

(10 Mo.)

FY 2002 FY 2003
$0 $0 $0

FISCAL IMPACT - Local Government FY 2001

(10 Mo.)

FY 2002 FY 2003
$0 $0 $0

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.

DESCRIPTION

Salaries directly related to maintenance and repair projects could be used as part of the 50% share of state funding for community college maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds, and purchases of equipment and furniture.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
