ASSUMPTION



The Department of Agriculture, the Department of Natural Resources, the Office of Administration and the Office of the Attorney General assume they would not be impacted by this proposal.



The Department of Conservation (MDC) assumes this proposed legislation would not have any direct fiscal impact on MDC funds; however, land acquisition by federal agencies, trades between state and federal agencies and conservation easements have relieved the state of expenditures.



Oversight assumes this proposed legislation would not result in the acquisition of land. Therefore, Oversight assumes there would be no fiscal impact on state funds as a result of this proposal.

DESCRIPTION



This legislation requires statutory authorization for federal acquisition of land for reforestation, recreational or agricultural uses or for sovereign trust status.



This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
