Missouri House of Representatives officials assume no fiscal impact.
Officials of the Office of the State Courts Administrator assume no fiscal impact to the state's courts.
Missouri Ethics Commission officials assume no fiscal impact, however, officials noted that there could be a salary increase associated with a transfer to merit agency status.

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
This act modifies certain provisions pertaining to the Missouri Ethics Commission.
This act places Missouri Ethics Commission employees under the state Merit System. Additionally, this act prohibits public officials from contacting the Missouri Ethics Commission regarding the employment of any individual at the Ethics Commission or from being a reference for any individual applying at the Commission. Any violation of this act shall be reported to the Missouri Ethics Commission and may be reported to the Ethics Committee of the Missouri House of Representatives or Senate.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
