Rules of Conduct for Use of Public Space - Missouri State Capitol
It will be the organization's responsibility for the setup of the requested tables and/or chairs as well as the setup of any displays and/or exhibits for your event.
- All events, including meals or food of any kind served, must be open to the public. No "ticketed" or private events are allowed in the third floor rotunda.
- Seating arrangements for an eating area will not be provided.
- If you cancel your event please notify this office as soon as possible so that the area, tables or chairs can be available for other groups.
- Do not attach any posters, signs, or materials to interior or exterior wall spaces of the Capitol.
- Do not lean tables, chairs, or other items against exterior or interior walls, pillars, busts, portraits, or staircases of the Capitol.
- Do not drag or roll tables, displays, chairs, or any other items across the marble floors of the Capitol.
- Do not move lamps, busts, or furniture in the Capitol.
- Loud or noisy events that are deemed disruptive to the State Capitol business are prohibited.
- The use of PA systems are not allowed while the Legislature is in Session.
- Absolutely no political campaign material for candidates may be displayed or handed out whatsoever.
Violation of any of the above conditions may result in denial of future requests by user.
Statement of Responsibility
The sponsoring organization will be responsible for abiding by the Rules of Conduct, for cleaning up all spillage, waste, litter, etc., and also be responsible for reimbursement of labor and materials costs incurred by the State of Missouri for repairs, resurfacing, or cleaning which directly relates to damage to the Capitol as a result of this event.
