Senator Sandy Crawford's Capitol Report for the Week of March 20

Thursday, March 23, 2023

This week, a great deal of time was spent on two measures that seek to better the lives of our children. After much discussion, Senate Bill 39 would establish the “Save Women’s Sports Act” and has received approval from the Missouri Senate.

The same holds true for Senate Bill 49, which would create the "Missouri Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act." Both of these issues have been getting a lot of attention over the past year or so and are now before the House of Representatives for their consideration.

Another one of my bills, Senate Bill 181 was also voted out of the Missouri Senate. This measure seeks to privatize the Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Company and includes my provision relating to lender-placed insurance.

Now that the 2023 legislative session is in its second half, there will be more legislation moving through the process including the budget for Fiscal Year 2024.

I am honored to serve as your senator in the Missouri Senate. If, at any time, you have questions, concerns or ideas regarding state government, please feel free to contact me at (573) 751-8793 or Sandy.Crawford@senate.mo.gov.
