Senator Sandy Crawford's Capitol Report for the Week of Jan. 23

Thursday, January 26, 2023

This year, I have the pleasure of chairing the Missouri Senate Insurance and Banking Committee, which heard two of my priority bills. Senate Bill 11 allows nonprofit organizations the authority to offer affordable and quality health coverage benefits to their members.  Senate Bill 12 seeks to modify provisions relating to the issuance of credit cards by lenders. Hopefully, my colleagues will help get these measures to the floor of the Missouri Senate for further discussion.

Also, the Missouri Senate Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources Committee heard three measures that relate to foreign land ownership in Missouri. Senate Bills 9, 55 and 76 were all heard this week. This is a critical issue for our state. I am looking forward to getting something done on this matter before session ends in May.

I am honored to serve as your senator in the Missouri Senate. If, at any time, you have questions, concerns or ideas regarding state government, please feel free to contact me at (573) 751-8793 or Sandy.Crawford@senate.mo.gov.
