The Return of SNAP Benefits

Hello from your favorite Senator Angela Mosley!

As the government shutdown comes to an end, many programs such as SNAP should return to normal. The Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS) has announced that all SNAP recipients will receive their full benefits this month. They are working to have funds available as soon as possible, though there may be some delays. In the meantime, there are still many local resources to help families struggling through these uncertain times.

In addition, the temperature is dropping and our community is mobilizing to make sure there are warm places to sleep. The Saint Louis County Department of Human Services has partnered with the Salvation Army to open the Winter Warming Emergency Shelter. It opened this past week on Nov. 10 and will remain open until Mar. 6, 2026. They provide shelter, food and other services to up to 32 individuals in need. They are located at:

The Salvation Army
 10740 Page Ave.
 St. Louis, MO 63132

There is also daytime assistance available at the Loaves and Fishes Resource Center. They help with emergency shelter referrals, telephone and hygiene access, meals and laundry. They are at:

2055 Concourse Dr.
 St. Louis, MO 63146

The Village held their 10th Anniversary Fundraiser and I was happy to attend alongside my husband. This is a strong program that has helped mentor many of our youth and is looking forward to their continued success in the coming years.

I also had the opportunity to attend the JADASA Community Resource Fair alongside Rep. Fountain Henderson and my daughter Rep. Chanel Mosley.

I always appreciate the opportunity to participate and contribute to these wonderful and important organizations. I hope as we continue into the holiday season, we can all find the time to serve and contribute.
