FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.

DESCRIPTION

The proposed legislation would modify the law regarding visitation rights for grandparents.

The proposal would specify that grandparents have the right to file a motion for modification of a dissolution decree to seek visitation rights when:

• •visitation has been denied to them; or
• •there is only one surviving parent and they deny reasonable visitation to the grandparents; or
• •the child has resided in the grandparent's home for at least six months within the year that the petition was filed; and
• •they are unreasonably denied visitation for longer than ninety days.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
