FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Higher Education assume this proposal would have an unknown impact, as it would prevent the institution specified from pursuing potential cost savings.

Officials from the University of Missouri assume this proposal would result in a negative impact to the University of approximately $500,000 per year since it would require the continuation of a chancellor's salary, benefits, housing allowance, travel, and office and support staff costs.

Oversight assumes this proposal would require the university to maintain the position of Columbia campus chancellor permanently, and would prevent the University from achieving potential future savings from consolidating that position with the position of University president. Oversight assumes the savings or costs resulting from this proposal, if any, would not result in an increase or decrease in appropriations or expenditures from any state fund.

DESCRIPTION

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
