ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Secretary of State assume this proposal would not fiscally impact their agency.
Officials from the St. Louis County Directors of Election state this proposal would have no fiscal impact. Officials state, however, that if approved, this proposal could have the inadvertent affect of increasing the costs of elections to other entities that would have to bear a greater portion of the costs of the election by themselves. Officials estimate this proposal would represent a tax savings to the taxpayer of approximately $1 per registered voter by not having to call an election to fill uncontested board positions.
Officials from Jefferson County state there would be no fiscal impact.
Officials from the Kansas City Board of Election Commission and the Platte County Board of Elections state this proposal would have no fiscal impact on their agencies.
Officials from the St. Charles County Clerk's office, and the St. Louis City Board of Election Commissioners did not respond to our fiscal note request.
