ASSUMPTION



Officials from the Police Retirement System of Kansas City, City of Kansas City and Local Government Employees Retirement System assume the proposed legislation will not fiscally impact their organization.



The Joint Committee on Public Employee Retirement (JCPER) has reviewed this proposal and has determined an actuarial study is not needed under the provisions of section 105.660, subdivision (5).

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business



No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.



DESCRIPTION



This act allows any member of the Civilian Employees' Retirement System of the Police Department of Kansas City who was retired on or before August 28, 2003, and is receiving retirement benefits from the Civilian Employees' Retirement System of the Police Department of Kansas City to be appointed a special consultant on the problems of retirement, aging, and other matters, for the remainder of such member's life. Upon such members' death there shall be paid a funeral benefit of one thousand dollars in addition to all other benefits.



This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
