FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
Under this proposal, whenever a transportation development district has been formed under Missouri law, adjacent property owners may petition the court by unanimous petition to add their property to the district. Any property added to the transportation development district shall be subject to all projects, taxes, and special assessments which exist at the time of the court order. Owners of the added property shall be allowed to vote at the next election to fill vacancies on the district board and on other matters. The property owners shall have one vote per acre as established by law.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
