DESCRIPTION

This act requires that the petition needed to form a public water supply district be verified by at least one of the signers of the petition. The verification must include a statement confirming that service has been made by mail to municipalities located within two miles of the boundary of the water supply district sought.

This act eliminates the six-month restriction limiting municipalities and public water supply districts from forming agreements to provide water service to areas that have been annexed to the municipality.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
