FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
This act assigns the sole duty of the metropolitan district to the development, operation and maintenance of a public system of interconnecting trails and parks. This act goes on to state that the district shall not substitute for the powers and responsibilities of other conservation and environmental regulatory agencies. Finally, this act specifically states that nothing in the statute shall authorize the district to regulate water quality, watershed or land use issues in the counties comprising the district.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
