ASSUMPTION
Officials of the Office of Administration, Division of Budget and Planning, State Treasurer, and the Department of Revenue state this legislation does not impact their respective agencies.
Officials of the Department of Health and Senior Services (DOH) assume this bill revises the annual lodging license expiration date to September 30. Currently, the statute states that the licenses expire on May 31; however, the statute also states that inspections of seasonal resorts located in counties of the third classification may be completed up to August 1 of each year. Thus, it is impossible to license these lodging establishments by June 1 if the inspections don't have to be completed until August 1. This bill resolves this discrepancy, allowing for licensing periods to coincide with inspection schedules. DOH assumes this legislation would not fiscally impact their agency.
