FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Mental Health assume this proposal would not fiscally impact their agency.

Officials from the Department of Social Services (DOS) assume this proposal amends state law to allow participating facilities that do not receive reimbursement from the state Medicaid program to limit their cost reports to "activities based programming". DOS states since Medicaid facilities already file cost reports, there is no fiscal impact to DOS.

Officials from the Department of Health and Senior Services (DOH) state this legislation would not be expected to fiscally impact the operations of the DOH. If a fiscal impact were to result, funds to support the program would be sought through the appropriations process.

DESCRIPTION

This proposal modifies language in section 198.086 regarding Alzheimer's Demonstration Projects. New language also specifies that each participating facility that does not receive reimbursement from the state Medicaid program only has to file a cost report relating to its activities-based programming.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
