ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Department of Economic Development, the Department of Natural Resources indicated that they could carry out duties under terms of this proposal with existing resources.
Officials from the Department of Agriculture have not yet responded to this proposal. Oversight assumes that the Department would also carry out their duties with existing resources.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
This proposal would express the support of the General Assembly for the Missouri Dairy Growth Council's "Dairy Producers' Industry Plan".
The proposal would also resolve: 1) that the Department of Agriculture work with the Council to complete a five-year plan for the state's dairy, 2) that the Department of Natural Resources reach an agreement with the dairy industry on required and acceptable regulations for dairy and heifer growing operations, and 3) that the Department of Economic Development receive a detailed briefing on the economic impact of Missouri dairy operations.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space. This proposal would not affect Total State Revenue.
