Officials from the Office of Attorney General, Department of Public Safety - Missouri State Water Patrol, - Division of Fire Safety, - Capitol Police, - Office of the Adjutant General,

- Missouri State Highway Patrol, - State Emergency Management Agency, - Director's Office, - Veterans Commission, - Division of Highway Safety, City of Kansas City, and the City of Springfield assume the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on their agencies.



Officials from the Office of State Courts Administrator assume the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on the courts.



Officials from the City of St. Joseph and the Jefferson County Commission did not respond to our request for fiscal impact. However, in response to a previous version of this proposal, officials assumed the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on their agencies.



Officials from the City of St. Louis, City of Cape Girardeau, City of Hannibal, City of Columbia, Jackson County, St. Louis County, Boone County, Greene County, Marion County, and Taney County did not respond to our request for fiscal impact.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business



No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.





DESCRIPTION



The proposed legislation would provide that the design, marketing, manufacture, distribution, or sale of firearms or ammunition is not an abnormally dangerous activity and does not constitute a nuisance. The proposal would prohibit political subdivisions, as well as the state, from instituting a lawsuit against any firearms or ammunition manufacturer relating to design, marketing, manufacture, distribution, or sale to the public. The proposal would allow actions regarding breach of contract or warranty for firearms or ammunition purchased by a state or political subdivision.



This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
