CURRENT BILL SUMMARY
SB 1501 - Currently, licensed wine manufacturers may receive a direct shipper license to ship up to two cases of wine a month directly to a Missouri resident for personal use. This act permits wine manufacturers, distilled spirits manufacturers, and retailers licensed to sell intoxicating liquor with a direct shipper license to ship up to two cases of wine or one case of distilled spirits to residents in this state or any other state that permits direct shipment of alcoholic beverages to residents. Licensees shall comply with all applicable reporting and record retention requirements and shall pay all applicable state excise and sales taxes on the alcoholic beverages.
Currently, carriers may receive an alcohol carrier license to transport wine directly to residents of this state. Under this act, carriers may receive a license to transport alcoholic beverages to residents of this state or another state in which such shipments are permitted.
