SB 432 - Each school district shall provide to the parent or guardian of each student enrolled in sixth grade and every year thereafter up to twelfth grade information concerning meningococcal (bacterial meningitis) disease and the availability of a vaccine. The Department of Health and Senior Services shall no later than January 1, 2010, develop information about the disease as prescribed under the act and make such information available to each school district. Nothing in this section shall be construed to require a student to obtain the vaccination against the disease, a school district to provide or pay for the vaccine, or prohibit an institution from establishing additional requirements concerning the vaccination.
