SCS/SB 569 - This act requires that one hundred percent of gasoline sold on or before January 1, 2008, be blended with at least ten percent ethanol. The Governor may waive the requirement in the case of extreme disruption in ethanol supply and in the event that the environmental protection agency promulgates rules limiting the use of ethanol blended gasoline in certain areas, the requirement may be waived until such time that the rules are changed. The act allows for the continued sale of high grade gasoline for automobiles over twenty-five years old, marine vehicles, and aircraft. All such high-grade gasoline shall be labeled as such in a manner that is easily read and prominently displayed. MEGAN WORD
