SB 655 - Currently, political subdivisions located in third class counties and Cape Girardeau County may, by majority vote of the governing body, elect to cover certain employee classes as public safety personnel members in the Local Government Employees' Retirement System ("LAGERS"). This act removes this restriction and allows any political subdivision to cover such employee classes. This act is identical to a provision in the truly agreed to and finally passed CCS/SS/SCS/HCS/HB 1606 (2022), SB 634 (2022), HB 1473 (2022), in SCS/HB 1541 (2022), HB 1886 (2022), in HCS/HB 2799 (2022), and HB 1298 (2021).
