CURRENT BILL SUMMARY
SB 537 - This act prohibits a defendant from pleading guilty, and a court from accepting a defendant's plea of guilty, until the court has explained to the defendant certain consequences of pleading guilty.
This act is identical to SB 497 (2017) and HB 699 (2017).
