CURRENT BILL SUMMARY
SB 497 - This act prohibits a defendant from pleading guilty, and prohibits a court from accepting a defendant's guilty plea, until the court has explained to the defendant specified consequences of pleading guilty.
This act is identical to SB 537 (2017) and HB 699 (2017).
